Massaging your baby makes him feel good while dad and mom touch him softly. Cradle your baby often to make him feel safe. It is the baby’s first time in this world and he is filled with uncertainty.
1. Preparations
Keep the room temperature to the optimum temperature that the baby is comfortable with.
Adjust the lighting. Not too dim and not too bright. Moreover, you might try playing some of the baby’s favorite music.
2. Prepare some plant-based oil
Gently rub this oil on the baby’s body with your palms using plenty of oil.
Look at the baby, keep eye contact and talk to him while you massage him.
Perform each massage 2-3 times.

Use your palm to gently massage the baby’s body, count to 3 with each stroke. Make sure to massage all the way till the fingertips.
Stroke the sides of the baby’s face, then move down his arms to his fingers. Next, slide both hands from the baby’s underarms down the sides of his body, all the way down to his feet and toes.
Gently place both of your hands in the middle of the baby’s chest and gently massage, drawing the shape of a heart.
Gently place your hands on both sides of the baby. Use your thumbs to lightly massage from the middle of the baby’s chest outward
Use both hands to gently massage your baby’s shoulders, back, bottom and legs, down to his toes.
Use both hands to gently massage from the baby’s shoulders down his arms and to his fingers.
Place one of your hands gently on your baby’s back, and gently draw tiny circles as you massage his shoulders, back, and bottom.
Using your fingertips, gently tap on your baby’s back.
Take your baby’s hands in your own and use your thumb to gently rub his hands, starting at the palm and working your way up to his fingers. Follow with a light massage.
Use your thumbs to gently rub from the fingertips of the baby to the heels of his hands.
Place a hand on your baby’s leg and use your palm to gently massage from the baby’s groin to his ankles.
Using both of your hands, lightly hold the baby’s thighs and then massage his ankles using your palm.
Use your thumbs to press on the bottom of the baby’s feet, from his heels to toes, gently massaging as you go.
