Continuous care is necessary.

A newborn’s metabolism is way better than that of an adult. That means it needs to be taken care of frequently. Perform this care when the baby is asleep or right after a bath when it’s easier for the baby.

All about washing a baby.

Wash the baby just like you stroke him and be careful.

Head
Wash the baby’s face daily with baby soap and gently wash his cheeks which can become dirty with milk. Wash his forehead because this is the area where there are a lot of secretions for the skin. Wipe the soap carefully with a warm cloth.

Body
Make sure you wash hidden areas well. Babies have a lot of wrinkles and crevices because of all the baby fat. Sometimes, the dirt and sweat get trapped in these areas and may even make the baby smell bad so be sure to carefully clean these areas.

Bottom
The baby’s bottom is the dirtiest part of his body. Because of all the urine and stool that the baby’s bottom is subject to in the diaper. Especially the wrinkles around the baby’s crotch area to be thoroughly cleaned once every day.

Day to day care of the baby
Babies are beautiful in every single cranny and nook.

Bellybutton
Most mothers are nervous about changing diapers because of the umbilical cord but there is no need to worry about it and it will fall off eventually. Be sure to expose the belly button to air more often and make sure it isn’t rubbing against the diapers. Consider using disposable diapers with a cut out belly button for newborn babies.

Nose and Ears
Cleaning the baby’s ears, Use cotton swabs and baby oil to clean the baby’s belly button. Clean the ears right after the bath when the skin is still damp. The baby’s tiny nose has a lot of mucus trapped in it so be sure to clean it delicately and carefully because you don’t want to damage his membranes. Use a thin cotton swab or tweezers and remove only the mucous you can easily see. Clean the baby’s nose while he is sleeping if he is not comfortable.

Nail
Cut the baby’s nails once every week and keep noticing because the baby’s nails grow quickly. The baby might scratch his skin if his nails are not trimmed properly. Be very careful while trimming the baby’s nails because of his delicate fingers. Better if you do it while the baby is asleep.
